Struggling Serie A giants AC Milan are reportedly eyeing a move for Udinese’s Czech Republic midfielder Jakub Jankto.

It said that Massimo Mirabelli and Marco Fassone are intent on signing a new central midfielder in January to act as a second-fiddle for summer signing Franck Kessie. They see Jankto as the perfect player for that role.

Talks have been ongoing since the last few days of the summer transfer window, but neither of the parties have come to a conclusion yet, by the looks of it due to complications in the deal.

The Pozzo family is known to be a tough negotiator and Udinese have valued their prized asset at around 25 million euros plus bonuses and his price has risen sharply. The asking price is deterring Milan from making a move in the winter.

The rossoneri aren’t the only club to be following the 21-year-old’s trail as Juventus are also said to be keeping a close eye on him. But Udinese have been persistent in increasing their price for Jankto.
