Barcelona may not offer Gerard Deulofeu a contract extension in the coming months, Mundo Deportivo reports.

The La Liga giants activated a € 12 million buy-back clause to sign the product of their academy from Everton last summer after that the player had shined our on loan at AC Milan.

Deulofeu had a very good start to the season having started four of Barcelona’s opening five games of the current campaign.

The Spaniard, however, has only played one of the last four games of the blaugrana and his lack of game time has convinced Barcelona not to open new contract talks yet.
Representatives of the club will only offer Deulofeu a new deal if he plays more game and if his performances will improve.

That means, however, that the player will be available in the January transfer window for just € 20 million, which is the release clause included in his contract.

Spanish media have linked the player with a return to AC Milan but sources have told Calciomercato.com that the rossoneri won’t sign him unless Montella decide to change his 3-5-2 system.
