Batistuta: ‘Higuain deserves Argentina call-up’

Former Fiorentina and Argentina star Gabriel Batistuta talked to Argentine media about the situation of Gonzalo Higuain who has not been called-up for the latest games of Argentina National team.

“Higuain was not treated properly”, Batistuta said.

“Unfortunately he made a couple of mistake and everybody has had no mercy with him. Critics have had an impact on his performances. He is still one of the best strikers in the world and an important footballer.”

“He deserves to play for Argentina and they should give him a call-up. Icardi and Benedetto must also go to the World Cup, Sampaoli must call them all.”
