Brazilian goalkeeper claims Ranieri "Got what he deserved"

In a week were the footballing world seems to have come out in sympathy for Claudio Ranieri after he was sacked by Leicester City on Thursday, former Roma and Liverpool goalkeeper Doni has gone against the popular opinion by launching a scathing attack on the Italian tactician.

The custodian, who had a fiery relationship with Ranieri during their time together in the Italian capital declared in an interview that; “Sooner or later, everyone gets what they deserve. The lie can only obscure [the facts] for a short time, then the truth arrives.”

Doni, now 37, is back in his homeland playing for Botafogo but has never forgiven his former boss for dropping him in favour of Julio Sergio at the Stadio Olimpico. The custodian only played 23 league games in two years before being off-loaded to Liverpool in 2011.

Ranieri’s dismissal has angered many including former players and managers alike. This morning, the Italian visited the training ground to say his goodbye’s to the players.
