Conte: ‘Forever grateful to these Roma stars’

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte talked to assembled media on the eve of Chelsea-Roma in Champions League. The Italian confirmed Alvaro Morata will start against the Italians tomorrow. Italy star Daniele De Rossi had praised Conte before the press conference and that’s what the Chelsea boss had to reply.

“I admire and respect De Rossi, I was lucky enough to coach him [with Italy national team]. I still have goose bumps if I think of the national team. De Rossi is a not only a great footballer but also an amazing human being. He has decided to spent his whole career at Roma, like Francesco Totti. I will be happy to hug him Florenzi and El Shaarawy tomorrow. It’s hard for me to think of them as my opponents. I will always be grateful to them for what they did with me.”

Italy will face Sweden in the World Cup play off and Conte also shared his thoughts on the azzurri draw: “I am sure we will qualify for the World Cup, we already won against them at Euro 2016.”
