Argentinian striker  Mauro Icardi  took a page out of his fellow countryman's book when he copied Lionel Messi's iconic goal celebration last night. After drilling home 90th minute goal to seal the first Derby of the Madonnina of the season with a hat-trick, Icardi took off his shirt and presented his name to the sold out San Siro.fellow countryman’s book when he copied Lionel Messi’s iconic goal celebration last night. In the Classico this past April, Messi was locked in brace to secure Barcelona's 3-2 win over hated rivals Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. After his last minute winner, Messi removed his shirt and presented his name to the packed stadium in Madrid. Reportedly, he did so to prove that he was still the best player in the world.

Icardi has always had great relationships with his teammates and fans. Infamously, while his captain at Sampdoria, Maxi Lopez, was married to media personality Wanda Nara, he started a relationship with her, eventually marrying her and living with Maxi and Wanda's three children. To this day, Maxi Lopez refuses to acknowledge Icardi on the pitch, grabbing his crotch instead of shaking hands.

More recently, Icardi alienated Inter Milan fans by threatening to kill them. In a book published last year, the captain threatened to bring back criminals from his native Argentina and murder all Inter fans who did not support him.

However, it seems, as in most cases, winning cures all. The San Siro is undoubtedly in love with their troubled captain.
