Inter ponder Cancelo permanent deal

If reports are to be believed, Serie A giants Inter Milan are unsure about when to buy Valencia loanee Joao Cancelo and whether to buy the right-back or not.

The 23-year-old Portuguese star has endured a slow start at the San Siro and injury problems have derailed his progress since his loan move from the Mestalla. He hasn’t made a single Serie A start this season, making four appearances from the bench.

A bad start to the season has forced Inter into doubting Cancelo’s abilities, but the long season could be enough to clarify their doubts about him.

To buy him on a permanent basis, Inter would have to shell out 35 million euros and would have to include Geoffrey Kondogbia in the deal. Valencia’s big demands could put the nerazzurri off largely because Cancelo’s contributions are no way near the valuation.

A possible Plan B could be that Inter ask for a discount at the end of the season from Valencia on the basis of how Cancelo has performed, provided that he does well enough to deserve a move.

It is said that Valencia are interested in signing Kondogbia and Marcelino seems to like Cancelo a lot. If Cancelo does go back, Kondogbia could too comeback to Inter.
