Chelsea blow as Alex Sandro set to extend Juventus contract

Alex Sandro and Giorgio Chiellini close to signing a new deal with Juventus, according to reports.

The Bianconeri are trying to tie down all their man players, and this includes the Chelsea target, who was close to moving to Stamford Bridge.

Sandro was the subject of a €65 million offer from the Blues, but Juventus didn’t want to sell their man, not after losing star defender Leonardo Bonucci to Milan for €40m.

The Corriere dello Sport claim that the 26-year-old is set to sign a new deal that will keep him at the J Stadium until 2022.

The Roman paper also claims that Chelsea are still interested in Sandro, despite signing Davide Zappacosta this summer from Torino.

Chiellini, for his part, has a contract that expires next summer. His agent, Davide Lippi, has already drafted one that will keep him there until 2020.

The Corriere also mention that this is probably when Andrea Barzagli will be cut, allowing Juventus to bring Mattia Caldara in from Atalanta.
