New contract talks of Lazio star still on hold amid interest of Liverpool, Juve and Atletico

Lazio have yet to reach an agreement for the contract extension of Stefan De Vrij. The talented centre-back will see his contract with Lazio expire in 2018 but there is still no agreement between the two parties regarding a contract extension of the footballer.

According to Il Tempo (as quoted by Città celeste), De Vrij has agreed the length of his new contract as well as a new – improved – salary.

Trouble is, Lazio do not want to match the player’s request in terms of release clause.
The Serie A side want the player’s new release clause to be in the region of € 40/45 million, whilst the player aim at half than that as he would be still interested in joining a big club in the summer despite his contract extension.

According to the Italian paper Juventus and Atletico Madrid are keeping tabs on the 25-year-old whilst reports in England claim Liverpool are also monitoring the situation of the Holland International.
