Reliving “Escape To Victory” with Pelé, Sylvester Stallone, and Michael Caine

Among those in the soccer community, “Victory” (as it's known as in North America) remains a classic film. On Tuesday night, the movie began to make the rounds on Twitter, eventually leading to Paul Carr of ESPN live-tweeting as he rewatched it (see the gallery).

John Huston’s 1981 film starred Sylvester Stallone, Michael Caine, Max von Sydow, Bobby Moore, and, of course, Pelé. It centered around a Nazi POW camp that stages a soccer match between the guards and Allied prisoners.

A side note: Pelé gave a halftime interview with Sly Stallone on live American TV during the 1980 Soccerbowl (NASL Championship) in which HE WAS PLAYING!
