Ajax star reveals why he won't join Barcelona or Juventus in January

Barcelona and Juventus are strongly interested in signing Ajax starlet Matthijs de Ligt. The Dutch centre-back is one of the most promising footballers in Europe and both clubs are willing to secure his services.

Psg have also been linked with signing the talented defender who is not going to leave the Lancers in the winter transfer window.

“I have no fear but I don’t want to leave the club in January”, de Ligt told Nederlandse Omroep Sticting.

“We have many trophies to win and I want to stay to lead Ajax to victory”, de Ligt added.

The player’s agent Mino Raiola took de Ligt o Turin last summer. The player visited the Old Lady’s training facilities but Ajax turned down a € 50 million bid made by the Old Lady of Italian football.

De Ligt will leave Ajax in the summer and he remains Fabio Paratici’s top target to strengthen Juventus’ defensive department next season.
