Balotelli to GFFN: "I received racist insults when I was a kid..."

Nice's Mario Balotelli spoke about his childhood as he spoke to GFFN (via Calciomercato.com), here is what he had to say on the matter:

"Childhood? When you are young you don't understand what racism is. You don't understand why other kids are being mean to you. Racism? How do you tell a young kid about racism, in my opinion you would then ruin their childhood. Kids can be mean sometimes and I had a few episodes during my youth years. I asked my mom and dad about this and they told me that my birth parents were from Africa and that all Africans are black skinned but not different to others. Brescia? Well growing up in Brescia, there were maybe 5 black kids in the entire town so I always felt left out. Whenever something went wrong it was always my fault. My first real racist episode happened when I was 13 or 14 when someone on the pitch said: "Look it is the n*****, go back home...". It didn't feel good".
