Chelsea dealt blow as Juventus defender set for new deal: the details

Juventus defender Daniele Rugani is reportedly set to sign a new deal at the bianconeri, as his stay will be extended till the summer of 2023.

Rugani has played regularly for Juve in the absence of the duo of Leonardo Bonucci and Georgio Chiellini, shoring up the backline in games against Parma and Sassuolo alongside winter signing Martin Caceres.

A report from Calciomercato states that Rugani has all but signed the deal, after Fabio Paratici confirmed the extension before the club's game against Sassuolo.

The Italian will extend till the summer of 2023 and will earn 3 million euros a season, as compared to the 1.5 million euros a season wages that he earns in his current deal.

Before the Sassuolo game, Paratici had said:  "Happy to be able to tie us to Rugani for a long time."

It is only a matter of time before the new contract for the Chelsea target is made official.
