Chelsea defender on the verge of Serie A return: he only wants one club
11/01/2019, 11:00
Chelsea defender Davide Zappacosta is a long-time target of Lazio that want to sign the Italian to strengthen their team in the race for the Champions League.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Lazio is the only club that Zappacosta wants to join in the January transfer window. For him, there is no alternative.

Despite the player’s desire to return to Italy and to weak the Biancocelesti shirt, the deal is not going to be a quick one. Lazio, in fact, need to convince Chelsea to sell the player on loan with an option to buy below € 15 million. In addition to that, the Blues would need to sign a replacement for the former Torino star, whilst Lazio have the opposite problem as Inzaghi would have too many full-backs. If Lazio sign Zappacosta, the club could be in need to sell two or three defenders that are already in the team.

Officially, Lazio do not confirm the interest in Zappacosta because they don’t want to increase the player’s value, nor they want to help competitors club. The player, however, seems to have decided his next club after Chelsea.
