Confirmed: Berlusconi will buy Monza

The president of Monza, Nicola Colombo confirmed in an interview with ‘Il Giorno’ the imminent sale of the club to Silvio Berlusconi: "We shared the decision to divide the shares with 95% that will go to the new shareholders and the 5% that will be mine. Anyway, I would have had the minority, so to me either five or thirty percent won’t change many things. I want to be an active part in Monza in this season, because the club is going to have a strong team, that in the past years we have designed with passion and sacrifice. It would be great if the new ownership can strengthen the squad more, but we are already very competitive now.”

Berlusconi sold AC Milan in August 2017 and it wasn’t easy for him as he was attached to the club. Almost a year later he is ready to invest in a new team from Colombo, which plays for Serie C. Will he be able to strengthen the team to reach the top tier?
