De Rossi: 'I will continue to play till I'm physically fine'

Roma veteran and captain Daniele de Rossi has revealed that he will continue to play for the club till the time he feels he's physically able to do so.

The 35-year-old has now slowly got back to full fitness after having sustained a knee injury in late October- an injury that kept him out till the end of January. With his fitness now back, De Rossi could feature for Roma against Porto in the UEFA Champions League.

Ahead of the game against the Portuguese side, De Rossi was talking to the press in the pre-game press conference. He was asked about his career at the Stadio San Paolo.

He said: "I've always said that. If I'm fine physically I will continue to play. The importance that the companions, teammates and the manager give me- they do not realize how much counts for me.

"In the last two years they have made me feel as important as ever before, so I just have to thank them. Performance is good because when you feel important everything becomes easier."

De Rossi joined Roma way back in 2000 as a teenager and has progressed up the ranks, having appeared about 500 times for the club.
