Exclusive: AC Milan face bids for Calhanoglu; Gattuso weighs in

RB Leipzig are interested, once again, in AC Milan's Turkish playmaker/winger Hakan Calhanoglu. The Bundesliga outfit approached to sign Calhanoglu from Milan in the summer but failed; yet this time they are trying again with a bit more financial power to try and get the deal across the line.

According to what has been learned by CalcioMercato, AC Milan have rejected a €15m bid from the Germans for Calhanoglu - willing only to part with him for a figure of €20m or higher. Gennaro Gattuso, who is still in his role as head coach at the club despite a lot of pressure before the winter break, is said to rate Calhanoglu very highly and appears somewhat hesitant to let him leave.

Leipzig's offer in the summer, with bonuses and add-ons included, reached a total of around €30m and therefore Milan will need convincing at this current point to let him go for less than that. Calhanoglu has been a strong, consistent performer for Milan this season and the Rossoneri would be unwise to part with him unless they were receiving enough money to make it truly worth their while.
