Exclusive: AC Milan issue Montella ultimatum as potential replacements revealed

AC Milan owners have issued an ultimatum to rossoneri boss Vincenzo Montella and have also identified possible replacements, if the Italian doesn’t match upto the expectations in the coming games, reports suggest.

The owners are expecting Montella do get six points from Milan’s games against Genoa and Chievo and also expect a good performance against arch-rivals Juventus. A failure to achieve the results will lead to Montella’s axing.

Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli want to keep Montella till the end of the season and then desire to replace him with current Chelsea boss Antonio Conte. If Montella does go before the end of the season though, Cesare Prandelli is being considered.

Apart from Prandelli, the duo of Paulo Sousa and Thomas Tuchel remain in the chase. Both are available and are open to returning to management.

An international solution could be the promotion of Rino Gattuso as the first team boss till the end of the campaign, but the plan is to bring in Conte next season.
