Inter could compete with AC Milan for Milinkovic-Savic

Serie A giants Inter Milan could reportedly be looking to give AC Milan a chase to sign Lazio midfielder Sergey Milinkovic-Savic.

The Serbian was the centre of attention of a host of big clubs this past summer, but his massive valuation caused interest to deter. Corriere della Sera state that while AC Milan are interested in signing the 23-year-old, Inter could well challenge the rossoneri in the chase for the Lazio man.

It is said that while Inter did make a late approach to sign the player this past summer, Lazio refused to sell him because of a lower fee and because they had little time to replace him.

New Inter CEO Beppe Marotta is looking for a player similar to Milinkovic-Savic's mould and the Serbian could be the man the nerazzurri go after in the next summer's transfer window.

After having played an impressive season in the Serie A last term, Milinkovic-Savic has endured a below par season this time around after having failed in the FIFA World Cup in the summer.

This season, the midfielder has appeared 18 times in the league, scoring once and assisting thrice.
