Inter Milan news: Godin arrival will not take place in January

Reports this week have revealed that Diego Godin is nearing a move to Inter Milan; with the Uruguayan's contract expiring in the summer and the veteran wanting to move on to a new challenge.

According to Sky Sport, the centre-back will be staying in Madrid for the rest of the season; as he attempts to claim the Champions League trophy with Atletico before eventually moving on to a new challenge in the summer.

A number of other clubs were linked to Godin's signature; Manchester United reportedly having multiple attempts to sign Godin denied by the La Liga outfit. Arsenal were also touted as a potential destination for Godin, due to their defensive troubles.

However, Godin looks destined to wear Nerazzurri colours and will likely do so after the summer.
