Lotito: 'It would hurt me if Inzaghi asked to join Juve but you never know...'
After his Coppa Italia success, Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi has become one of the bookies' favourites to replace Allegri at Juve. Speaking to the Corriere dello Sport about the prospect of Inzaghi replacing Allegri, Lazio president Claudio Lotito gave his two-cents.
"Simone Inzaghi ? I never believed that the coach was in question. Inzaghi for me represents the history of Lazio, as a player and as a coach. He deserved his place on the Biancocelesti bench. As for me, Inzaghi stays. If he asks me to go to Juventus, it would hurt me from a human point of view. He is very fond of me, he has contributed to the growth of society and the environment. He asked not to sell Milinkovic-Savic and I accepted because I had made a commitment with him. I did not foresee the possibility that Inzaghi would go to Juventus, but in life you never know. I don't know what he wants to do, he has always shown attachment to our colours. Juve is definitely a great place to go, but why can't Lazio also be? Football is not just about money."
