Man Utd dealt transfer blow as Roma star's release clause is not valid in January

According to what has been written by the Romanista, the release clause for AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas is not, in fact, valid at all during the January market. This will come as a transfer blow to the likes of Barcelona, Manchester United and Chelsea - who have all registered an interest in Roma's Greek defender.

The three aforementioned clubs have struggled with centre-back issues as of late; with all three also linked to Napoli's Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly, Barcelona watching Todibo and De Ligt, and Manchester United also keeping an eye on Spurs' defender Toby Alderweireld.

For this market, it seems Manolas will remain in the Italian capital - but Roma can be guaranteed that they will face an assault in the summer of 2019; with the clubs laying seige to secure the Greek's signature.
