The phone-call that can take Barella away from Chelsea to Inter

Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly looking for ways to trump Chelsea in the race to sign Cagliari sensation Nicolo Barella.

The Italian has been linked with a move to Chelsea, who are currently said to be leading for the race for him. But the chase not even close to being over, as things stand.

Indeed so, Corriere dello Sport say that Inter are back trying to trump the Blues as Steven Zhang was involved in a telephone call with Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini to know about the possible negotiation methods and about ways to reduce the fee from 50 million euros.

Inter could include two players plus cash to take the player away from Chelsea, with Cagliari interested in Alessandro Bastoni, who is currently on loan at Parma. Gabigol could also be used as a makeweight to sign Barella.

While there is nothing done yet for Barella, talks are still very much ongoing. It has turned into an auction, with Napoli also interested in the box-to-box midfielder.
