Top 3 Serie A players in the World Cup thus far

The group stage of Serie A is now completed. Here are Calciomercato.com's top three Serie A performers thus far.

3. Ivan Strinic - Croatia

AC Milan have done really well in landing the left-back, who's surprised everyone with several solid performances for Croatia. Even though he was intended as a backup at Milan at first, things could certainly change after the tournament, should Strinic continue his good run.

2. Blerim Dzemaili - Switzerland

The midfielder has done really well so far, helping his country to secure the spot in the round of 16. He's one of the most experienced players in the Switzerland side, along with Liechtsteiner, which has really helped him when leading the team.

1. Dries Mertens - Belgium

An important key for his side up front, linking up well with Lukaku and Hazard. Belgium are probably the favourites to take home the World Cup and so far, they haven't disappointed the expectations.
