Trouble brewing in Madrid, as Zidane goes head to head with Real Madrid over his son

Real Madrid officials and manager Zinedine Zidane appear to be at loggerheads over the managers own family. According to Marca the Frenchman wants to install his son as Thibaut Courtois’ deputy next season, while the club are insistent on Andriy Lunin being the club’s back up goalkeeper.

Lunin has been on a season long loan at Leganes, and despite not breaking into the first team, members of the Madrid hierarchy feel he is the natural back up to Courtois next season. Big things are expected of the 20 year old signed from Zorya Luhansk in the summer.

Zidane meanwhile is keen for his son Luca to be given a chance to prove himself at Madrid, despite a less than impressive debut when he featured against Huesca recently.

It seems to be the first bit of real friction between Zidane and his employers since he returned to the job that he left following his third successive Champions League win, and it will be interesting to see who emerges on top.
