Video: Van Dijk teases Ronaldo about Ballon d'Or - 'Was he really a rival?'

The long-awaited Ballon d'Or gala takes place in Paris this evening, and for months there have been rumours about who will take home the esteemed award. Messi? Ronaldo? Van Dijk? All three have been named as potential winners, but earlier today one was seemingly ruled out of the contest.

The Juventus star, in fact, won't be present at the gala in Paris as he will attend the Gran Gala del Calcio in Milan instead. In other words, he most likely won't win. In an interview on the red carpet, the Liverpool man teased Ronaldo about the award, saying 'was he really a rival?' when asked about the striker's absence.
